This year's event was a huge success, with 671 top furniture manufacturers from 11 countries participating and over 20,000 visitors from more than 140 countries worldwide. The leading manufacturers at MIFF 2023 included Stellar from China as well as Poh Huat, Ecomate, Favourite Design, SWS, Wegmans, Ivorie, Merryfair, Step Furniture, WA Furniture, Inception, and Lifestyle International from Malaysia. Overview of the Trends:
One of the key trends that emerged from MIFF 2023 is the growing demand for ergonomic office furniture. As people spend more time at their desks, there is a greater focus on products that are designed for comfort and support. Many of the exhibitors at the event showcased their latest ergonomic products, such as chairs with adjustable lumbar support, armrests, and headrests. Another trend that emerged is the use of sustainable materials in office furniture. Many manufacturers are incorporating eco-friendly materials into their products to meet the growing demand for sustainable office furniture.
Innovations: MIFF 2023 also showcased several exciting innovations in office furniture. Many manufacturers showcased products that integrate technology, such as chairs with built-in sensors that adjust the seating position based on the user's movements. Some companies also showcased products that combine traditional furniture design with modern technology, such as tables with built-in wireless charging pads.
Trends & Insights from MIFF 2023
1. One of the notable trends we observed at MIFF 2023 was that there were mostly serious business visitors only, compared to earlier years. Due to people being reticent to travel, there were hardly any casual visitors, which led to more actual business being transacted. Finally, the participants and visitors seemed to reach back to pre-Covid levels, which was very positive for industry confidence as well.
2. Since the physical trade fair came back after several years, there were many new and first-time visitors who were new to office furniture imports and were looking for options and trying to understand the business process for furniture imports. This is where Stellar's strong suit came in. Serving customers in over 80 countries, the Stellar team at the event was able to share deep market insights, incoterms, and export processes that were really appreciated by the buyers who visited MIFF 2023.
3. Most manufacturers were focusing on chairs rather than desks, workstations, and storage options. This left the buyers without many options. However, Stellar has always focused on comprehensive solutions and had a full range of the latest MFC desks and workstations that are fire, water, and termite-resistant, sustainable, lightweight, and easy to assemble. Stellar also showcased the latest range of ergonomic mesh chairs that customers were delighted with. These chairs are high-tech and feature the latest components, high-quality grade 3 or 4 gas lifts that help them carry heavy weight and last a very long time.
4. Most buyers were looking for entry and mid-level products, i.e., chairs that have all the basic features like adjustable lumbar support, armrests, headrests, and strong caster wheels, without costing a bomb. Basic executive and revolving swivel chairs for office use and modular furniture for modern offices were in demand by most visitors. Once again this provided an opportunity for Stellar, as we have a wide range of chairs from entry-level basic swivel chairs to fully functional office chairs with all the bells and whistles.
